Our Lady of Sorrows Altar Sodality is a women’s organization that is made up of six altar guilds. These altar guilds serve the parish in many aspects. Firstly, the guilds care for the needs of the altar through weekly Sacristy and Sanctuary cleaning. Additionally, the guilds meet monthly to provide for the social and spiritual needs of the women of the church, as well as other scheduled events such as retreats and parish activities like the 4th of July Festival.

To sign up for Sacristan duty please fill out this Form Madonna and ChildMadonna and Child comes together monthly to pray the Rosary, listen to guest speakers, fellowship and enjoy brunch. Christmas is a special time for the M&C members as they raise money at their annual Christmas fundraiser to be distributed to various charities. Christmas is also special as they organize the parish-wide Birthday Party for Jesus. Organized activities of this guild include a Moms and Tots playgroup, moms' night out, bible study group, field trips, and family get-togethers.
Meetings are on the 2nd Friday of each month at 9:00 am, in the Sodality Room of the Family Life Center. Our Lady of FatimaOur Lady of Fatima is the largest guild at OLS. They host a monthly meeting to pray, share a meal and listen to speakers on everything from the religious to the practical. They are responsible for making the Baptismal stoles for all babies Baptized at OLS. Our Lady of Fatima also organizes sodality socials and prepares hospitality baskets for the parish shut-ins although all the guilds participate in these events. Fatima also raises money for various projects throughout the year including Burse club.
Meeting Time: 2nd Thursday of the Month, 11 am, Sodality Room of the Family Life Center Our Lady of GraceOur Lady of Grace guild meets monthly for lunch and fellowship. They strive to grow spiritually in Christ through prayers, scripture, and service projects such as crochet and knitting for preemies. They also donate goods to the Centennial House at St Vincent Hospital.

Our Lady of PeaceOur Lady of Peace is committed to the Hispanic Ministry of Birmingham by collecting goods during the year for the Hispanic Ministry Program at the Catholic Center of Concern. Additionally, they head up a toy drive at Christmas each year. They donate to the Diocesan Burse Club and the Dominican Monastery of St Jude in Marbury, AL . They bring spiritual enrichment to the parish in their service to the adoration chapel and parish functions such as the First Communion Reception for the Parish School of Religion (PSR).
Meeting Time: 1st Monday of the Month, noon, Sodality Room of the Family Life Center Immaculate Heart of MaryImmaculate Heart of Mary is a guild designed for working women. It is the only guild that meets in the evening. This is a very active guild! They prepare monthly meals for the Ronald McDonald House at UAB, make rosaries for First Communion and Confirmation Candidates. They begin each meeting with the chaplet of Divine Mercy.
Meeting: 2nd Tuesday of the Month, 6:30 pm Sodality Room of the Family Life Center Saint Ann
St. Anne’s guild is known for their wonderful meetings filled with food and fellowship. They also collect toys at Christmas for the Hispanic Ministry of Birmingham and host a shower of Blessings in April. They create souvenirs for children receiving sacraments at OLS. As do all guilds, St Anne’s also participates in the Burse Club.
