Young Adults ages 13 and up and Adults that have been Baptized may receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in which the Holy Spirit is given to them to strengthen and perfect those who are following the teachings of Jesus Christ in the Roman Catholic Church. The Bishop is the official minister of the Holy Spirit and will attend a special Mass for these young people whereby the are received into the church as Adult members.
Young Adults must attend weekly Sunday School classes through our Parish School of Religion (PSR) and Adults must attend weekly Rite of Christian Initiation of Adult (RCIA) classes on Monday evenings. These classes typically begin in October and conclude with the Easter Vigil Mass in which Adults are received into the Catholic Faith.
Our usual year of Confirmation is grade 8. Non-parochial children should be registered in our faith formation classes in the Parish School of Religion program (PSR) at least one year prior to this sacrament. Please contact the PSR office at 871-1431 or visit ourladyofsorrowspsr.com for more information.
