Elementary Children's Ministry

The Elementary Children's Ministry invites all 1st-5th graders to celebrate All Saints Day with a costume party on Thursday, October 25 from 6 - 7:30 PM in the Assembly Hall at the Family Life Center. Dinner will be provided for all participants and their families - please include everyone in your registration using the link below. Please note that this is not a drop-off event. A parent/chaperone must stay with their children/carpool group. Don't forget to wear your costume! The OLS Elementary Children's Ministry (ECM) hosts events once a month for all parish children in the 1st-5th grades. The ECM functions under a three-part mission:
  • To strengthen the children's faith through fun activities, which are both spiritual and prayerful.
  • To establish fellowship opportunities for the children, especially bridging the gap of unfamiliarity between the PSR program and OLS school. This is also true for the parents as well, as they are asked to stay during the events.
  • To foster a tradition of attending youth group, so that they will continue, whether out of habit or desire, to join the middle and high school youth groups during those critical times in their lives.

The events are typically held during the week and vary on the day of the week, as to allow families committed to other extracurricular activities opportunities to attend at different times. Events occur from 6:00 - 7:30 pm and dinner is provided for attendants and their families. Events are not setup to be a "drop-off" situation—at least one parent is required to stay. Younger siblings are welcomed to the events, but need to be monitored by a parent. Please contact the ECM leader, Chi Ranieri, at ecm@ourladyofsorrows.com with any questions.
